It’s time to rediscover why Charleston consistently
The CRA also encourages diners to make reservations as early as possible. Over the past few installments of Charleston Restaurant Week, many restaurants were booked to capacity before the event started. Not all participating restaurants accept reservations but many provide access to a reservation link through the CRA website or diners can contact the restaurants directly.
CRA Executive Director, Kathy Britzius, says, “We’re glad to welcome so many new restaurants to Charleston Restaurant Week and we’re grateful for the continued support of the restaurants that participate every year. Charleston Restaurant Week continues to gain momentum and we are so pleased at the success the restaurants have experienced since it began.” The event offers diners prix fixe menus consisting of three items for $20, $30 or $40 depending on the restaurant. Are there any restaurants open for lunch and offering the restaurant week specials 3 for$20 etc?? Thank you
Hi Melanie,
Some do offer the Restaurant Week during lunch and others do not. Please call ahead to the restaurant to find out for sure. Thank you!
Love restaurant week! It is a great time to enjoy some places we have not previously visited. With around 500 restaurants in this area it is difficult to get to all of them. Thanks!
So delighted that this small idea has taken off so well in Charleston. Kathy, remember it was July 2, 2009 when I called a group of other PR people together to discuss this idea. We thought it belonged with Charleston Restaurant Association, and look where it’s gone!
Present at that meeting were:
Laura Bright, Maverick Southern Kitchens, now with Bright Partner, Inc.
Lee Deas, Obviouslee
Rebecca Blackman, Leapfrog Public Relations
Katie Chapman, Charleston CVB
Linn Lesesne, Charming Inns
Lyn Mettler, Step Ahead Web Strategies, Inc.
Suzanne Wallace, Charleston CVB
Cheryl Smithem, Strategic Marketing & Charleston PR
Greetings,
Do you have a list of restaurants that have vegetarian and vegan options? Or do we have to just look through all of the menus?
Thanks!
Hi Aisha,
We do not have a list, we are sorry! All the menus are created by the restaurants and we do not ask specifics. We would recommend calling ahead to ask or look at the menus online. Thank you and we hope you are enjoying restaurant week!
Trying to find menus for week of 9/10 without crab. Any recommendations?
Hi Fran,
We would recommend the Italian, French or non-seafood restaurants. We wish there was a better way but we know most of the restaurants do offer other options then just seafood. Hope you find a restaurant (because there are so many great ones to choose from!)
