  1. we are traveling from out of state, we have purchased VIP tickets, will we need to bring chairs? Or is seating available? Also can we purchase VIP parking if so where do you purchase that? Are outside coolers allowed? Thank you

    • There is seating in the VIP area, but chairs/blankets are welcome. You can purchase VIP parking upon arrival to Boone Hall if still available. Please no outside coolers. Thank you so much, we look forward to seeing you at the Oyster Festival!

    • Hi Rhonda,
There is seating inside the VIP area, but chairs/blankets are welcome, too. Coolers are not allowed. VIP Parking is on a first come, first serve basis and if available, can be purchased the day of from your vehicle. We look forward to seeing you at the festival!

    • You can purchase tickets at Southcoast Community Bank, Boone Hall Farms, Mt. Pleasant and Downtown Visitor’s Centers. Tickets will be available the day of at the gate, but this event will sell out, so we recommend to get them early! Thank you!

  2. With the general admission tickets, does it take a while to get into the event.. Can you give some details on entering the event.

    • The earlier you arrive to the festival, the better. Each year, thousands of people attend the event, so it can get crowded fairly quickly. There will be a few different entrances to get into the event: (2) off Long Point Road and (1) off HWY 17 (by the pumpkin patch). If shuttles are being provided, it will be announced closer to the date of the event. We hope to see you there!

    • We will have a sign-up area for the Oyster Shucking Contest set up by the main stage on the day of the festival. We look forward to seeing you there!

  3. Will there be a easy access way for cab/taxi drop off or will they just wait in the same line as if we take a car? We have been the last two years and the car line is very long and we were hoping to use a cab as our designated driver this year.

    • Hello,
All cabs/taxis must enter and exit the same way the rest of the cars do. We look forward to seeing you at the festival!

    • Hi Richard,
With proper I.D., we will have reserved handicap parking in the VIP parking area. We look forward to seeing you there!

  4. I saw a review that says you need to bring a knife for shucking. Is this correct? I assume the oysters are steamed and not raw, right?

    • You can bring one of your own or you can purchase a knife for shucking at the festival. And yes, the oysters are steamed. We look forward to seeing you there!

  5. Im planning to grab the trolley at JBE School. Is the address 855 Von Kolnitz Rd? Will there be signage to make sure we are parking in the right place? Other than the $5 pp rt fare is there any parking fee?

  6. I understand children 10 and under are free with adult admission. If the adult have VIP admission, could the children use the VIP tent as well? Free or extra charge? Thanks!
