WHAT: The weekend kicks-off Friday, September 28 with Taste: Iron Chef Competition. This event showcases local chefs in a heated head-to-head battle at the Culinary Institute of Charleston’s state-of-the-art amphitheater kitchen. Taste: Dine Around will take place on Friday and Saturday night at participating restaurants. All restaurants will create a three course meal paired with a specialty/craft beer. Taste: Sweet & Southern on Shem Creek will take place on Saturday, September 29 at the Lighthouse on Shem Creek. This event will showcase world-renowned singer/songwriters, Lowcountry caterers and moonlit harbor cruises. The Charleston Restaurant Association partners for the second year with Southern Living magazine to present the Southern Living Taste of Charleston main event on Sunday, September 30 at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant. The main event is a celebration of Lowcountry cuisine featuring more than 50 of Charleston’s top casual and fine dining restaurants serving sample size portions as well as the Southern Living Village which will feature editor appearances, editorial-inspired vignettes, demonstrations and more.
