The Southern Living Taste of Charleston - Main Event

Join us for 2013 Southern Living Taste of Charleston!

This  year marks the 33rd anniversary of the Lowcountry’s culinary event of the year, The Southern Living Taste of Charleston, hosted by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, Inc (GCRA).  A 3-day event showcasing taste-tempting delights served by Charleston restaurants.

Main Event-

Historic Boone Hall Plantation is transformed into a sea of culinary enchantment!  50 of the Lowcountry’s  favorite casual and fine dining restaurants serving sample size portions + beer and wine.  Specialty and imported beer tasting tent, live entertainment, the legendary “Waiters’ Race” and the children’s area.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the following charities:
The Ronald McDonald House, Hollings Cancer Center, Hospitality Heroes, Shriners Hospitals for Children and Charleston County Schools Science Materials Resource Center

Taste: Iron Chef Competition

A showcase of local chefs in a heated head-to-head battle in the Culinary Institute of Charleston’s state-of-the-art amphitheater kitchen. After the secret ingredient is announced, the chefs will have 45 minutes to create and cook at least 4 dishes to be judged by our panel of experts.

 Amphitheater Seating Tickets  include guaranteed seating in the amphitheater kitchen to view the competition live plus complimentary beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

General Admission Tickets include televised viewing of the competition throughout the Culinary Institute’s multiple viewing rooms plus complimentary beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

Taste: Sweet & Southern on Shem Creek

Join us for an intimate evening on Historic Shem Creek featuring performances from world-renowned singer/songwriters. Guests will also be treated to Lowcountry cuisine served by a variety of the area’s top caterers as well as moonlit harbor cruises.
